Proposed changes for Tier 1 General Highly Skilled Migrants Visa
The Tier 1 Post Study Work replaces the previous International Graduate Scheme (IGS), Science and Engineering Graduate scheme (SEGS) and Fresh Talent: Working in Scotland Scheme (FT:WISS) and allows the successful graduates to work in the UK for a period of 2 years without needing a job offer.
Successful PSW Visa holders could potentialy change their status to Tier 1 Highly Skilled programme after it's expiry period.
Candidates who are in IGS and SEGS VISA with current leave expires on or 30 June 2008 would get one more year extension. This progamme provides a bridge to highly skilled or skilled work.
To apply under new points-based system and be accepted into Tier 1 - Post Study Work, you must pass a points-based assessment.
All time spent in the UK under Tier 1 General Highly Skilled Visa status do not count towards Permanent Residence.
